We have finally added the finishing touches to our son's playroom and I am happy to say the room is complete (for now... :P) and I am in love with it!
I think this room is perfect for our little guy to play and grow in. The bright colours release a wonderful energy that really brighten the area and inspire learning and (hard) play times ... which equal zzzzzzz's galore!
We ended up getting all of the furniture at Ikea. Here are the pieces we used and their cost:
1 x Expedit Shelving $79.99
2 x Stuva Betsad $90 each (this is the drawer in the bench)
2 x Stuva Bench $49 each
The reading area consists of a little chair (Pottery Barn) and Rain Gutter Book Shelves (see my tutorial in another post on how to create these for under $40).
Originally I wasn't overly sold on the orange (from the chip at the paint store) as I don't overly love orange as a colour, but now I am thrilled with it and couldn't imagine it any other way.
The zebra accents started with the little blanket (which is actually a towel, but it's so soft and furry so we use it as a blanket); it's from Pottery Barn. I Pulled from the animal print idea and then found the massive zebra canvas at Ikea ($59) and the zebra pillow at Home Sense!
If you have any questions or comments about this post, please leave me some feedback :)
I hope you enjoy this room as much as we do!
